At Sense, our services for disabled children and adults with complex communication needs are built around the wishes and needs of each individual, providing specialist support exactly where it’s needed – in the home or community.
Our person-centred approach, using total communication, means we can support you as an individual, and your family, in the best way possible.
Individual support for people who are deafblind
Sense Communicator Guides and Intervenors can support people who are deafblind, their families, carers, and the professionals who work with them.
On a Sense Holiday or Sense Short Break, you’re in charge of the fun.
Whether you join one of our weekly activity groups or come away with us on a week away, you’ll get to choose what you do, make new friends and try things that you might not have thought possible.
As a parent, relative or carer, you can relax and enjoy a break from your caring responsibilities, knowing that your loved one is safe and having an amazing time.
We are the UK’s leading charity dedicated to conquering stroke. We deliver stroke services across the UK, campaign for better stroke care, invest in research and fundraise to expand our reach to as many stroke survivors as possible.
WE CAN HELP BY:
- listening and talking through your situation
- giving information about stroke, making suggestions and exploring the options available to you
- discussing rehabilitation and recovery after stroke
- pointing you towards people and services that offer support after a stroke
- putting you in touch with relevant local and national organisations
- telling you how to reduce your risk of stroke
- sending leaflets and factsheets with information about stroke
- directing you to further sources of information and useful resources.
