We provide a welcoming and friendly environment where the children can come and play and learn. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage with a strong emphasis on learning through play and structured activities. We have a wide range of activities on offer such as craft, messy play, sand and water play, small world play and huge outdoor play areas. Our outside facilities are amazing with several different gardens, we have a dedicated baby garden, a huge nursery garden, a pre-school garden and paddocks where the children collect the eggs from our resident chickens.
The key purpose of my service, as a childminder, is to ensure all children in my care are safe and happy. I believe this is achieved by the children respecting each other, and whilst acknowledging that we are all individuals, we need to work/play together as a happy unit. Our typical day would begin with before school activities of the children's choice, walking to the local school/pre-school, then home for various activities, both indoor and out, to suit the age and development of the under 5's. On two of those days we would attend a Toddler group (free play) and a Mess n Music session (craft and songs) in the morning. Walk (whatever the weather!) to pick up from Pre-school at 1 p.m., followed by afternoon activities (which would vary from day to day). Then the school pick up (again walking) at 3 - 3.30 p.m., followed by further activities of the children's choice. When the children are picked up, I always make time to chat with parents/children regarding what we have been up to during the day. I am happy to support the children/young people/parents in any way I can, and am very flexible.
Childminding. I work from home, I go to toddlers groups, parks, outings. I support next steps with parents.
Jumping Jack’s primary role is to provide outstanding Care and Education for children under the age of 5 years. Our extremely comprehensive, exciting and fun curricula programme, provides a solid and robust foundation for all the children to learn, develop and grow in their own way and time. All the children benefit from a ‘Free Flow’ system which allows every child to access every activity and resource at their leisure with the constant support and engagement of our team of professional staff. Through careful and constant monitoring we are able to quickly identify children with additional needs which in turn increases their outcomes. We also work closely with every parent to ensure all the children within our setting are reaching their full potential and to identify any further external support such as Speech Therapy, Paediatricians, Health Visitors and Social Workers.
Our babies are cared for in a cosy, warm and soothing environment, providing activities which stimulate their senses using textured materials and a wide variety of toys, water, sand play and music.
Our older 0-3 toddlers have access to two spacious rooms providing exploratory activities such as playdough, cooking, threading, puzzles, mark making, small world, sharing stories, singing, homecorner, art & craft, water, sand and painting.
Within our pre school our environment encourages the children to explore sand and water play, role-play, cooking, art & craft, woodwork, mark making, mathematical concepts, construction, threading, board games, musical instruments, ICT, books, story sacks and singing.
Our after school children are collected from three local schools by a member of staff in our people carrier and taken back to the club. There they have the opportunity to complete homework in a quiet designated area, 'chill' at the snack bar, relax listening to music or reading books or play a game until home time at 6pm. During the school holidays a program of activities is devised that include both planned and spontaneous activities. Regular features indoors include: playing games, art & craft, cookery, music, role play, design technology and games consoles. Outdoor activities include football, rounders, spare parts play and team building games.
